What Is Root-Cause Therapy?

RCT is a hybrid of coaching and therapy, aiming to get to the root cause of your problems and symptoms (helpful for healing attachment styles through inner child work).

It’s an integrative therapy, consisting of many transformative therapies / techniques which includes: talk therapy, somatic therapy, guided imagery, kinaesthetic exercises (self-tapping), inner child healing, regression, future progression, breathwork, mind-body (nervous system) regulating resources, NLP (neuroplasticity) and more…

With my expertise and experience, I can help you manage your trauma through Root-Cause Therapy & EMDR.



THE STAGES OF ROOT-CAUSE THERAPY

STAGE 1 - STABILISATION & INITIAL THERAPEUTIC WORK

The first stage of RCT is to prepare you for what’s to come during the healing session. Providing containment to stabilise your system and provide a felt sense of safety through somatic body based exercises.

Equipping you with the resources, emotional, physical and cognitive, that will enable you to go through the process of RCT, and be able to deal with anything that’s being presented; and help you handle any emotional or psychological stress you’re currently experiencing, or may experience in the future.

Whether that is through kinaesthetic exercises, breathing exercises, or guided relaxations, helping you to reduce the levels of anxiety or stress you’re currently experiencing.

This will help to build capacity and resilience in your nervous system, having a positive ripple effect on all areas of your life, and indirectly helping you to heal your trauma.

During the evaluation I will discuss with you what to expect during the process (often clients report feeling a lot calmer and like a weight has been lifted), how to express any concerns if you ever have any, and for us to essentially get to know each other a bit more.

We can work together to ensure that your treatment plan is working to help you to be able to process your emotions, heal your trauma through regulating your nervous system.

STAGE 2 - THE HEALING 

In the next stages of RCT, you will begin the healing process. During each session, I will ask you to focus on a specific negative belief, emotion, or physical issue previously identified. While doing so I will ask your unconscious mind to take us to the root cause of the issue.

Once we have accessed the event, I will then ask you to focus on the emotions and sensations that you’re experiencing and where you feel them in your body, and then I will help you through breathwork to release the sensations from your body.

Trapped sensations keep us stuck in a vicious cycle because the sensations feed our emotions, and the emotions feed the limiting beliefs and stories we tell ourselves, further fuelling the sensations we have stored in our body, impacting how we view the world and the those around us.

Through this new perspective, after releasing the frozen energy trapped in your nervous system, you will gain the awareness and understanding on all levels of consciousness of why you feel, think and behave the way you do, and have the opportunity to meet the needs of your younger hurt self through reparenting.

STAGE 3 - COMPLETION & FUTURE PROGRESSION

At this stage we are essentially tying up loose ends, helping to project you into the future, ensuring that change is maintained so you can begin to live the life you want.

With my guidance and experience, I can help you manage your trauma through Root-Cause Therapy &/or EMDR.

RCT is a hybrid of coaching and therapy, it’s a regression and progression therapy that helps you get to the root cause of your current issues. Helpful with healing attachment wounds (insecure /mother/ father)  as it uses inner child healing work.

I am also trained in EMDR and incorporate this into my coaching sessions.

My hope as an integrated practitioner is to help you heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences.
