Passionate about helping couples and individuals to achieve emotional and physical wellbeing. Aiming to treat the 'whole person', Gaynor provides a complete therapeutic and holistic experience with an analysis of your case history including diet and life style.
Hello and welcome to my page.
I’m Gaynor Almond a holistic fertility specialist based in Cheshire where I have my own established practice. I also offer online services to clients who are unable to see me face-to-face, becoming more and more common in this current climate. I have extensive experience working with couples on their fertility journey in both natural and assisted fertility, such as Clomid, IVF, ICSI, IUI and donor egg and sperm, and I am particularly passionate about helping women who have experienced recurring miscarriage, wanting to optimise their fertility to improve their chances of a positive outcome.
I look forward to supporting you on your fertility journey.
Get your mind and body ready for pregnancy with an online consultation, which will help me to establish where you are in your fertility journey, and how I can help you further to improve your chances of carrying a healthy baby to term.
As a holistic therapist I look at all aspects of your health, incorporating nutrition and supplementation advice (recipes to follow), advice on further fertility testing, and how to chart your cycle properly using basal body temperature (BBT), which will help me to identify any potential issues within the different phases of your cycle that need addressing, such as your bleed, the follicular phase, ovulation, luteal phase, and length. I’ll also show you specific reflexology points that you can do on your own hands or feet at home, that will further help to boost your fertility.
The optimum time to prepare for pregnancy is ideally at least 90 days, as it takes 90 days for men to develop healthy new sperm, and women to develop healthy new follicles. Making some life style changes is not only going to improve your overall health to optimise your chances of conceiving, but it can also help to reduce your chances of miscarriage, help to support and improve your chances of a positive outcome when undergoing your fertility treatment, and crucially for the long term health of your developing baby.
Whether you’re trying naturally or preparing for your fertility treatment, IVF, ICSI, IUI or using Clomid, I’ll help you and your partner to get in the best place possible to improve your chances of a positive outcome, by implementing some very achievable lifestyle changes. And please don’t worry if you’re starting your fertility treatment sooner than the optimum 90 days, there’s still lots you can do to get prepared,

“When I first visited Gaynor, I was about 2.5 years into our trying to conceive journey. After testing etc I had been diagnosed with PCOS and I had begun a course of 3 cycles of clomid which I had been fortunate enough to meet the requirements to be prescribed on the NHS. I had also been doing acupuncture sessions weekly for about 8 months but wasn’t sure it was totally for me and had been recommended to look into the potential holistic benefits to fertility of reflexology. I was determined that if I was going to try reflexology then I wanted it to be with a specialist in fertility which brought me to Gaynor.
At my first appointment she went through my medical history really throughly and was thoroughly empathetic with my situation, something that I had underestimated how much I needed. Fertility treatment is often an isolating and lonely place to be but Gaynor really helped put me at ease and for the first time I began to feel more in control of what was happening. She talked me through exactly what she was doing and explained how this would change at different parts of the cycle (stimulating follicle growth etc). She gave me tips and techniques as to what I could do at home with simple exercises that would support the work she was doing as well. I was also asked to fill in a questionnaire that helped with suggestions for food / supplement recommendations that are proven to help with fertility issues and pcos particularly.
As soon as I began my treatment sessions with Gaynor I noticed a difference in the results I was getting at follicle scans and I actually began ovulating which I hadn’t been doing before on the clomid alone. I also felt better and more relaxed about what was happening and generally healthier.
After I had finished the rounds of clomid my husband and I made the decision to pursue private treatment which resulted in us is starting an IVF cycle. Again the reflexology paid a key part in working alongside the drugs I was taking in promoting and controlling follicle growth. I am certain that my regular sessions with Gaynor were a key factor in helping us to secure our positive pregnancy test on our first full cycle of treatment and something that we will be both be eternally grateful for.
By the end of my session I felt that I had gained a friend in Gaynor who as well as treating me during the process, had listened, supported and given me impartial advice at times when I very much needed it! I cannot emphasise the importance of helping your body in every way possible during fertility struggles and although we still needed medical intervention alongside, I would never discount the vital part in the limiting of the effects and the success of the treatment that reflexology had. If we ever decide to add again to our family the first appointment I will make will be with Gaynor and I would urge anybody in the same position to do the same.”
The best way to describe reflexology is it helps to get things moving.
💜Helps to release emotional blockages to
💜Promotes blood flow by improving circulation,
and encourages the movement of stagnant lymph.
💜It’s super relaxing, so helps to reduce cortisol
levels so you feel calmer and less stressed.
💜Encourages your body into a state of
‘growth and repair’, rather than a state of
“defence’, more conducive for conception.
I have extensive experience working with couples in preparation for pregnancy, and offer a completely bespoke treatment plan, looking at all aspects of your health including nutrition, your emotional and physical wellbeing, to encourage a state of homeostasis within your body.
Get out in nature.
The cleaner the air the more ‘negative ions’ present, these are the good guys, we want more of these and less of the positive ions found in more polluted air. They are teeny tiny charged atoms that create a biochemical reaction when we breathe them in, helping to boost our serotonin levels.
They tend to be more abundant around natural flowing water, so a walk barefoot through the surf of the sea would be ideal, getting close to a waterfall, going for a walk after a storm.

Reflexology is such a relaxing, healing treatment, different areas on the feet relate to different parts on your body, if your feet are in harmony so will everything else💜
“Reflexology will leave you feeling deeply relaxed and rejuvenated, helping to aid healing by restoring balance to your mind and body.”
This is juiced lemon (including the skin) with a bit of apple 🍋.
Once metabolised in the body lemon is very alkalising, and the more alkaline your body is the healthier it is😃. It also helps with the detoxification process by supporting your lovely liver and kidneys, and is a great source of vitamin C.
Start your day on waking with a glass of ‘just’ filtered water at room temp (a pint if you can manage it), 30 mins before breakfast, then you can start to introduce freshly squeezed lemon juice to your subsequent glasses of water. Ideally try to have a glass of water (or lemon water) 30 mins before each meal, either at room temp or if you prefer bringing up to just before boiling point and let it cool a little. Trying to slowly buildup to drinking 2 litres of water a day (that’s approx 4 pints or 8 glasses)💧🍋.
This is such a calming and grounding yoga pose, great to use in times of stress or anxiety, and can help with reducing swelling in the legs (oedema). Lie flat on your back with your legs up the wall, inching your bum as close to the bottom of the wall as possible, can use a cushion to lift your hips aiming to get your legs as flat against the wall as you can. Close your eyes, stretch your arms out like a cross and take slow calming breaths😌 xxx
Add the juice of 1/2 a lemon to a glass of ‘clean’ boiled water cooled down a little,. Great for detoxing the liver to help keep your hormones in check, and kickstart your metabolism. Add some raw honey or infuse with raw ginger, to benefit from their anti inflammatory and antibacterial properties😉.
Ideally we need around 8-9 hours sleep a night to function effectively.
If you're not getting a proper nights sleep due to stress from work or home, it will naturally start to have an impact on your health and mental state.
⭐️️Try to get into a good bedtime routine, aiming to go to bed and wake at the same time everyday.
⭐️️Turn off all electronic equipment a couple of hours before going to bed.

Sitting is the new Smoking - try to get out for a brisk Walk for at least 20 minutes each day.
Ideally if you can go for a walk after each meal it can help towards keeping your blood sugar levels stable.
